It’s not what I said; rather, it’s the distinction that Google made when describing Mum as a superior AI version.
Google actually releases MUM in May 2021. It has been trained in more than 75 languages, which is an enormous number.
Way of Understanding – MUM not only understand the language infact it can genaate the language. It has an advanced method of understanding the language. For example, if you have a unique query on the search in English, mum will search all languages feeds for the best result, translate it into English, and provide it to you.
MUM is a Multimodal Model – Bert can understand complex sentences and show you the best article or blog suggestions based on your search query. MUM, on the other hand, not only understands the text language but also displays the best option available based on the search query in the form of a blog, article, video, images, infographics, and so on. BERT was unable to understand images, videos, and infograph visuals, whereas mum understands images, videos, and infograph visuals and provides a better result.
Sentiment analysis- Sentiment analysis, often known as opinion mining, is a natural language processing (NLP) method for identifying the positivity, negativity, or neutrality of data. Mum can not only understand texts are positve, negative or neural but can also read the visuals acordingly. This helps Google to Identify seniments of the feeds which results in providing better results on search result page.
MUM is currently active on three search results.
1. Details on COVID Feeds
2. To provide the best results, by reading websites used featured snippets.
3. MUM focuses primarily on Google Lens Queries.
